Annual Community Exhibition (ACE) Application

IMPORTANT DATES:

Application Period: May 6 to June 3, 2024 at 12:00 P.M.

Acceptance: Artists will be notified of their acceptance by email on June 24

Deliver Art: to MBAC, July 8 – July 12 from 10am-4pm 

Pick Up Art: from MBAC, October 7 – October 11 from 10am-4pm 

If accepted, you will be contacted by MBAC staff to arrange artwork drop off and pick up 

Exhibition: July 26 – October 6, 2024 Gallery Hours: Wednesday – Thursday, 10:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M. Friday--Sunday, 10:00 A.M. -- 5:00 P.M. Opening Reception: July 26, 2024-5:00 P.M.–7:00 P.M.

DON'T FORGET

  • Artist may submit two pieces for consideration
  • Please upload  images of your pieces. For paper applications, you must attach a photocopy.
  • No artwork that has been exhibited in a previous MBAC exhibition will be accepted.
  • No artwork shall be removed early from the exhibition without prior written authorization from the Cultural Arts Supervisor or Manager and the artist or guardian.
  • All artwork accepted for the exhibition must be delivered to MBAC hang ready (see FAQ)

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

1-Name: for artists under 18, please include a parent/guardian's name for contact.

2-Medium: tell us what this piece is made out of; we will list the medium exactly as you state it.

3-Description: tell us what your work looks like in case your paperwork is separated from your piece.

4-Artist's Relationship to MB: for this Community exhibition, we give preference to artists with close ties to the community (those living, working, taking classes, etc.) in Manhattan Beach); please briefly describe your relationship to this community.

 

The City of Manhattan Beach and the MBAC Cultural Arts Division does not provide insurance. Therefore, the artist/lender should provide his/her own insurance if necessary. Neither the City of Manhattan Beach nor the Cultural Arts Division is responsible for theft, loss, or damage to any work, equipment, or personal injury beyond the City's liability policies.
